Japanese Company Pays Employees In Bitcoin

GMO Internet is offering their employees the option to receive part of their salary in Bitcoin, the decision is optional.  The company says their motivation is to improve their employee’s literacy of the virtual currency.  The company is also offering a 10% bonus to employees that try it.  The lower limit will be 10,000 yen (about $88) and the upper limit will be 100,000 yen (about $890).

The company has future plans to create a ‘GMO Coin’ that will be convertible to Bitcoin and other cryptos.  In addition, the GMO coin can be used to buy in to the next-gen mining boards or part of a cloud mining business.  The company has plans on developing the 7-nanometer process technology which will allow high performance mining capabilities with lower power consumption than current chips.
