The Harrisons purchased a 10 acre plot of land in November 2017 and the plot had a large cabin. They purchased the site as a vacation home. After they completed the purchase, they went down to the site to survey the property and they were astonished to find the cabin gone.
Lonnie Harrison commented that all that remained of the house were some blocks and pipes sticking out of the ground. They contacted law enforcement to report the loss. The officer commented “I’ve never had a house reported stolen in my career yet. This was a little bit unusual, but when I went out and looked at the scene, I could tell it was a professional job. It was part of the deal, but the problem was it wasn’t specified in the writing”. Larry Shiver, a sergeant with the Madison County Sheriff’s Department was the officer whom completed the scene investigation.
It was later determined that the structure was relocated to Rockdale, TX which is about an hour drive away from Madisonville. A repossession company out of Temple, TX relocated the building. Now Officer Shiver is attempting to locate the previous owner whom may face charges for not representing the property correctly.
